Fabrite Lamination Corp LLC:
This PUL was produced prior to 2010 by Fabrite Lamination Corp LLC. The old Fabrite is a well known supplier of a "Gold Standard" PUL product before ceasing to operate in January 2010. Fabrite Lamination should not to be confused with a new player in the market who market an inferior heat melt PUL called "Fabrite International LLC".
This PUL is used by major nappy-makers worldwide to produce a quality, durable product - when it comes to your PUL in your nappy, who makes it is very important and dictates how much life you get out of your product.
Our ongoing plan:
Due to Fabrite ceasing to continue, at Greenbeans we are developing our own PUL which will be the same standard and product as the old Fabrite PUL was.
We aim to have a sample production of White produced and available before the end of 2010 and if that is successful, will produce a production run in all colours to land early-mid 2011.
Any colours we out of stock on, will remain out of stock until early-mid 2011, when our production run of colours come in.
What is PUL?
"PUL" is an ancronym for "PolyUrethane Laminate". It is a process of bonding two fabrics together with a layer of PU (Polyurathane sheet) to make them seem as one. PUL was not originally designed or invented to be in consistent contact with water or laundered as we do in Modern Cloth Nappies, however PUL is the best barrier fabric when the right process with the right materials are used to manufacture it.
A reliable waterproof layer is the single most important component of any nappy system, making investment in quality PUL fabric invaluable, and ensuring your nappy has the potential to survive many children.
Yes there are many people that can supply you a cheaper PUL, we can too, but we don't as it fails within 3-9 months of normal usage. The PUL we stock is the best and will not fail before it should, and if laundered correctly, can easily last five years or more. With PUL, you get what you pay for, and how good your PUL is determines how long your nappy lasts.
1mil vs thicker
We stock Fabrite's 1mil PUL as our research and testing has found 1mil PUL more flexible to work with, not "crackly/crunchy" and less likely to crack or split over time as thicker PULs can be. It also provides a high level of breathability. The thicker the polyurethane layer, the less the breathability.
The PUL we sell exceeds the quality & durability of every producer we are aware of in the world. While the industry standard for PUL is to last 30-50 times through the laundry, our PUL well exceeds this many times over and it is possible to get over 1,000 laundry cycles out of it.
Colour match your fastenings in the hook & loop or snaps sections.
